The only negs I have on my CR are medical collections. Would writing the 100 word explanation about this do any good when trying to get credit/home loan. Something like, sorry these are on here, but I was dying and being as insurance through place of employment for all of us would be $700/mo and still only cover 80% we just couldn't afford insurance. I realize there are a lot of collections, but most of them are from one life threatening incident and I just really wanted to live. I have never gone on a shopping spree and then refused to pay, I just had a major fluke happen to me and it almost killed me, but I am well now and just want a chance for some REAL credit.
Think that would work? Do you sense any sarcasm? I am very frustrated about the whole medical collections counting against you just as much as those that just refuse to pay for their shopping. I'm serious though...does anyone think doing the explanation would do any good?
It has been said here that you file gets flaged as having a consumer statement. This indicates to people that their is a problem, but no one bothers to read the statement.

I'd exhaust all means possible to have any medical collections deleted. By adding comments I beleive you are in a sense helping to verify the debt. If the amounts are too big and in SOL, then you will just have to wait it out.

yeah, you need to get rid of it...that should be your goal. Don't give up and just put a statement on there...they are disregarded anyway...and besides, you would be verifying that the debt was, indeed, yours.
YMMV,
