today. I had already settled the debt with Zwicker & Associates back in July 2011 and received a letter that it has been settled and the client(citi) had been notified. Do you think Citibank sent my account out by mistake? Should I call Citibank to ask them to withdraw from the second debt collector? What should I do? I do not want to pay as I received the canceled debt 1099 already.
A second debt collector has picked up an account that has been settled in full? If this is the case send the CA a copy of your settled debt statement by CMRR stating the account is settled in full. Be nice when you write and they will go away. If the account isn't settled in full, you will probably get a 1099C either this year or next.
