hi, just checked Privacy guard...
Found out that my BK dates are listed differently/ one is mar. 1, the other, march. 17th...does that make a diff. if I wanted to disputer, I mean, it would be stupid to complain "hey, list my BK right, get it or I'm suin'
Trust me... I know this isn't a laughing matter...just curious...
GRRRR TU...they are hard you know what...
thanks for any commentary!

Dispute it...Do you know when the actual date was? They may both be wrong...Remember...it has to be 100% accurate or it has to come off. Just a FYI...NEVER send the CRA your BK papers.
---
hi!
Appreciate that info...how would I dispute? "Never filed" or, Incorrect date? That would put the onus on the CRA to do the work...right?
I'm ebarrassed to say i'm not sure on the date, would have to look
Thanks for the tip on the paper trail, man, that would be bad, huh!
This is getting interesting. I wish I had found this site 6 years ago..or whenever! thanks again...

Do a combination....
I never filed bankruptcy on March 1st or 17th or whatever date they have listed.
Try that or a variation.
---
Dispute "I never filed a bk on XX/XX/XXXX. Please delete."
---
Hi Disputer...
So, if on one report, if it's listed incorrectly, I say that....and on the other, etc...
I have to find out the right date, first...
Just write "never filed Bk on this Date" and leave it at that?
thanks!
it sounds so easy....
---
Just remember on public records it is easy to dispute...but it could come back updated an reported correctly...I bet you have other inaccuracies on your BK public record that could be challenged...remember...it has to be 100% accurate.

Ok, so i have to ask this (cuz my situation is simalar-wrong dates) tu bk came back verified --and the dates are wrong, i wanna call tu but am afraid that if i do and say i never filed on xx/xx/xx date, what if the customer rep say do you are saying that 'its not mine, what then. I gonna try the i never filed on such and such date with ex and eq

Send them a procedural request asking:
Name of Creditor/Furnisher:
Address:
Name of Who was Contacted:
Phone Number Called:
Date of Contact:
---
Well, if you never filed on xx/xx/xx, then it's certainly not your's, PERIOD, is it ? Don't volunteer any date information !
---
THANKS A LOT TO BOTH THE TheCapn AND CROFTTK.
---
crofttk, I suggested the dates because it makes them verify more than just if BK was filed or not. They will have to check the date. It works the same with a CA or OC. " I have never had an account with this company with a balance xxxx.xx" or " I have never had an account with this company that was opened on xx/xx/xx." I have used that method successfully for myself and friends.

DISPUTER:
I agree with your point. Frankly, 14 days is alot of water under the bridge for me, so recollection is a little fuzzy. I THINK I had just gotten done reading another thread at that point where someone was hesitant, I think in an ethical sense, to say "not mine", and perhaps that clouded my vision on this thread. Rereading, what you say makes plenty of sense !
Another thought that occurs, in got2fixit's case, where they were concerned about being put on the spot by a CSR on the phone, I would simply suggest doing it in writing, CMRRR of course.

Thanks for the advice, i had planned on using that method, with TU in about 60 days (don't want to get marked frivolous  ) The good thing though is that equifax has 2 more days to verify the bk, and today eq just deleted my other public record). So i have a couple of ways to work this. My only really big problem now is discover (was a corporate card) gotta figure out what the hell to do with that monster. (TOTALLY my old employer)
