I had a repo done on a Honda motorcycle in 2008. The account was revolving so I am wondering if I can use Whychat's system on this or do I treat it like a cc? Any help is much appreciated.
I think there are some other people on here who have dealt with this problem. Try the search and see if you can find some.

I have done quite a few searches in the past on it and haven't seen anything. I tried "revolving repo" "repo motorcycle" "revolving repo motorcycle" and more and can't find anything. Do you think it would be good to pm Whychat maybe and ask his advice? I have never PM'd him or anything I don't want to be a nuisance to him though lol.

I checked around a little - it is treated as a credit card. When did you stop paying on it, and what state are you in?

I am interested in this as well similar situation, but the account reports as paid/was a charge off. Never paid it off

Last payment was made February of 2008 and I lived in Arizona at the time. I now live in Iowa and I also bought the bike when I lived in Iowa.

OK, it's still within the SOL in Iowa - Honestly, although it's a revolving account, I would try the repo letter just to draw things out. You need to make it past Feb. (SOL is 5 years) cross your fingers and hope that they don't know what it is.

The bad part is I'm in college and starting to apply for banking jobs and I need this and a repo from 2010 on a truck off my report. The repo in 2010 has a deficiency of 14k and I have a lawyer that will help me if they come after me for 1.5k. I believe I got all the documents they were suppose to send on the truck in 2010 so I may just be screwed but I have been reading on here a ton trying to figure out a way to get it off my reports before I send anything. The lawyer is telling me to dispute the truck as a illegal repossession and he is a consumer rights attny that is pretty respected in the state of Iowa so I figure he knows what he is doing.

Sorry I left this out. The reason I contacted the attorney is because it is within SOL.

Yeah, but you can act dumb and dispute it as a repo rather than a credit card to buy some time. The other repo, I agree with the lawyer. Those laws are very intricate, and seldom do these companies comply with all of them. Most consumers don't have a clue anyway. It's under the motor vehicle laws, not the credit laws.

Should I go ahead and wait til Feb. to dispute it as a repo on the bike then? Obviously at some point I am going to probably have to tackle it as a cc, and I feel much better knowing I have a back up plan going after this repo that is within SOL. The lawyer basically told me he has never heard of the bank suing anybody, but if they do come after me he is pretty much guaranteeing me that he can save my butt for me. He said that he deals with repos in the dozens that are within SOL and that they almost always screw up somewhere.
