I have pored over the threads re: Nordstrom Cards CLI's. Have a $1000 limit. Other than the fact it will help my util., last year during the Anniversary Sale, I had to pay it off weekly so I could get my points on the whole shebang- PITA. One thing I didn't see in the threads- has anyone received one with a balance on their card? I've had about $400 hanging around on it since Christmas (paying and shopping). It's on my list of payoffs...just wondering if I should move it up and pay it off next paycheck...and THEN ask for CLI. Figure I can point out the crazy amount of activity during sale and how it deterred me from finishing my shopping in less than five trips... (do ALL the winter shopping for the kidlets during that sale).
History- had a year, no CLI or APR asks, always pay on time and pay off or at least much more than minimum. Used it enough to receive 6 Notes.

Ideally put in a request for the APRD (tier 1) + CLI after PIF. They love usage at Nordies, remember carrying a balance tends to negate the notes bonus due to interest fee payments accrual.
started at 2k tier 3 store card IIRC now tier 1 15k siggie, Nordies plays ball.
Can place a request after four months/ statement cuts, never had an HP in connection with a CLI or APRD.
They didn't always approve for the APRD but didn't take long to eventually get to tier 1 and you have a much stronger Nordies purchase history, which is a big plus.
