Disappointing Walmart/GECRB Auto CLI

After my lackluster $350 auto CLI with Discover yesterday, Pageonce just alerted me that I got a Walmart auto CLI of $200. My 3rd statement cut on the 4th so this was a few days late. I was hoping to request a nice juicy CLI at the 4 month mark. I don't get it. Lenders like Chase and Amex keep throwing credit at me but the "generous" ones like GECRB want to screw around with this nonsense. Barclays won't even give me a card, meanwhile I just got CSP. It all seems very backwards. I should add, I only used my card twice and PIF. Both times were right when I got the card and on the same day (one for in store, and then gas as I left). Haven't used it since.
I've seen tons of people who get huge GE CLIs with little or no use. I got the card for the TU08 so it's not really a big deal. Just would be nice. Starting limit was only $700 too. If I had to choose, I'm glad that the big boys give me credit whilst the less desirables are shafting me. I wouldn't want it the other way around. It just seems very atypical. Guess I can't have my cake and eat it too.

My walmart card has a $150 limit. Want to trade?

I hear you. It seems like the first couple GECRB cli's are small, then they get bigger. Hang in there! Just remember to use it, PIF, and wait for payment to credit and every 4th month ask for cli. My WM started at $600>725>850>975>1700>3200>4500 and it's just over 2 years old.

Does it make a difference if you PIF before statement prints or just PIF after you receive the statement?

I believe it helps to use, PIF, and wait for payment to clear before requesting CLI.

I'm poking along at $1,300.

Does volume matter, or could you just buy a pack of gum once per month?

Does volume matter, or could you just buy a pack of gum once per month? IDK.

Holy Mackerel! I just logged into ES1's Walmart store card. She got it Feb 10, 2012, put $17 on it, PIF, and hasn't used it since. 4 months later, BINGO, $200 increase to $1,400. She has a higher limit now than I do.

:clapping:I opened a walmart card for my husbnd in December of last year and in march of this year it was raised to $800.00 from $600.00.

Does volume matter, or could you just buy a pack of gum once per month? Yes, always make sure you turn your volume to 11 when you PIF. It's a well known trick.

GECRB has been very good to me. Seems like any of their auto-CLI's are tiny increments. I think they're "rewarding" you early by nudging your limit higher, but they also like to see SOME use inbetween CLI's or you get their famed "not enough experience at the current credit limit" response when you try for more. Hang in there... it'll be worth the wait.
