Levin Furniture has a financing special, 60 months no interest. No down payment and anything in the store. I can pay what I buy off way earlier than that. I really need a couch and a table. I called and they say they use GE Money Bank to finance. My BK7 was d/c in 2005. My FICO is 700. I really hate to be turned down for this. Any opinions? I really hate to waste an INQ just to be turned down. I am planning to go tonight after work or tomorrow as that is the last day of the offer. Other than the BK7, no lates or baddies. All IIB will fall off in 2012. I have TU frozen. Is GE Money Bank BK friendly?
Bump...I did search the BK forum for this.

Considering the length of time since your BK, I think you have a good chance of approval. GEMB is fairly BK friendly. After 2-3 years, approval odds increase. They're not known to give credit right out of BK, but there's plenty of people that get credit with GEMB after 2-3 years. Your score is good enough. As long as your utilization isn't high, you should be good.

I hope so...all I need is a couch and table, trying to to keep it under 1k. If I qualify I figure I might get something nice that won't fall apart. No "bonded" leather! Not a large couch, as I have a small space. I have seen smaller sectionals that may work. Something that won't attract Cosmos' hair as well. He is a Jack Russell that sheds.

Isn't GEMB normally a TU puller? I think they pull EQ sometimes, but a majority of the time they like to pull TU. Just something you may want to think about since you said you have TU frozen.

TU refuses to correct mistakes so I froze it.

I think you're good. But my experience with GEMB is that they LOVE to pull TU.

I'll have to take my chances.

Wish me good luck as I'm going today. Well, after I see the doctor for more antibiotics!

Good luck! FWIW, GEMB has always pulled EQ for me and anyone I know that's tried; in New England FWIW. The other thing that I've noticed with them is that if they deny you due to BK on your first app attempt, 3-6 months later they'll approve you for just about everything.

Re: the frozen bureau - I've kept TU on ice and applied for about 3 GEMB cards and was denied due to freeze on all. Refused to pull EQ, which is my best bureau. Can't wait to hear what happens! Good luck!

Judging by credit pulls, they seem about 50/50 on EQ and TU, depending mostly on your location and the card. Good luck. Report back.

Approved for $4500!!! I bought a nice leather couch and a set of tables. Used $1700 of credit. I am happy. Pictures to follow.

They must have pulled EQ. I really did not think I would get approved. Delivery is two weeks as I have a crazy schedule. I have to figure how to post photos. I have them up on my FB page.

Wtg! Nice little CL you got there. What keeps me from considering furniture cards is the limited use. That would then lead to unnecessary purchases. But it's a nice line to have for utilization purposes if nothing else.
