I applied for a Citi Card, and was declined due to "Too many inq" Seriously, that was their only reason. Has anyone ever called them and do they do recon? Any luck if you did?
I doubt CITI will budge on the inquiry issue. They are very strict about the number of recent (within the last 12 months) inquiries.

How many inq is too many? I've got 4/cra, considering adding the citi diamond perferred...

The most recent analyst I spoke to before I applied in July told me that they are most concerned with the last 6 months of inquiries, no more than 3 are generally acceptable. In some cases they will approve an app with more than 3 if the other components of the applicant are strong.

What is a good # to call for recon with them?

I was denied a Citi card solely because "a credit obligation related to a bankruptcy or financial counseling plan was recorded on your credit bureau report." What are my chances for a recon with Citi? Should I even attempt it? The BK (CH7) was discharged in November 2003 and my scores are over 700.

No, Citi was not IIB.

I was also told 3 in the last 6 months is the max inquires they are going to approve.
