Today, I got nine letters from BofA (aka. FIA Card Services). Seven out of nine told me about why they were closing the accounts and the other two told me about CLD. Those seven credit cards were reduced to 1K each two years ago and the other two I'm still owing. The reason of closing accounts and CLD were I currently have sufficient amounts on your revolving lines of credit, I have sufficient amount of credit with FIA card services and economic downturn and credit report. I know that they're going to close the other two accounts as soon as I pay it off. Some of those account were previously MBNA, Fleet, BofA accounts. I 'm going to close my deposit accounts to credit union when I pay it off. I'm happy they closed my accounts because I don't have to find things to buy keeping accounts active. Ron.
Sorry to hear, Ron. BofA has bitten many a hand that fed it as of late. My card will get a $4.48 monthly charge and PIF, and will remain sockdrawed for the rest of its days (or until they give me one more reason to cancel it, or a helluva better reason to use it.)

That' ok. I don't have to buy Sunday newspaper any more. They won't get get my business after I pay it off. Ron.

At least make sure to tell them why, it'll take a lot of complaints (closed accounts) to make BoA pay any attention to how FIA is annoying people.

---

Have you thought about calling them to at least the remaining 2 cards cl restore?

---

I'm not going to call BofA to restore CL. They don't deserve my business. Their rewards program is not that great. I had enough of them. Time to move on. Ron.

---

Ron I was going to say say sorry, but you do not seem to upset about this. I cannot say I blame you.

---

No, I gave up on them long time ago. I stopped using their card when they did major CLD two years ago. I had some other credit cards far better than them. BofA was one of my favorite cards. My main goal is to pay it off my debt and move on. Avoiding further ratejacking . I'm not upset any more because I did that two years ago. It's just business like George said. Nothing personal. Ron.

Calling BOA has been known to hazardous to your credit limits.

Calling BOA has been known to hazardous to your credit limits. Looking at his posts above, it would not make much of a difference one way or another. BofA is now in his rearview mirror. Adios BofA.

sorry about the account closures! if the FIA card has good rewards, I'd try to call and get the CL re-instated, but otherwise BOA rewards programs aren't that good

---

Except the 2% straight cash reward cards from Fidelity/Schwab which are FIA cards.

---

Sorry to here this Ron, you are right to dump them.

---

I am sorry to hear this, OP. There are better issuers out there that are offering better rewards. They may be hard to find but they are out there.

That's ok. I got quite a few backup cards to use. BofA are the only one doing the balance chasing. Citi and Chase did CLD and ratejacking. The rest of them haven't done anything. I got my local CU and Alliant CU cc to use and they haven't done anything yet. BofA is one of the worst to deal with and they reduced all my CC when I applied for their business cc two years ago. I will never deal with them after I pay off my credit cards. Ron.

Sorry to hear about this, Ron.
