I disputed all negatives on DH's report, including two Dell accounts. Was going to try pay for delete next. Well, instead of verifying as valid they changed both from CO with an amount showing to card reported lost/stolen with $0 balance. EQ and TU show them that way; nothing derogatory. EX shows it that way but also shows CO. I don't know where they came up with the lost/stolen - maybe they just couldn't verify so updated it to that instead of deleting? i don't know... But I called EX to ask why they are showing it as a CO and they said if a card (we never even HAD a "card" to lose) was reported lost or stolen then it would not be a CO, but if the consumer DID NOT report the card lost or stolen then it would show as a CO. I'd like EX to get rid of that CO notation on there, but I'm afraid if I dispute it again that Dell will come back and show a CO on all three bureaus. Should I just offer Dell pay for delete, or what? I'm not denying that we owe it, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to get the CO off his credit report.
