I like cars..There..I wrote down my weakness! I'm looking for comments to try and break this obsession! As an example, I have a very nice car now (luxury car, big and comfortable, stylish, spotless and very powerful). It has 74k on it (I bought it with 23k on it and it was 2 years old). It's 7 years old now. At the time I bought it, I was working full time, but have since retired and I'm in my early 50's. I drive about 300 miles per month now. Before I was driving about 1000 miles/month to work and back. This car will last me many years, but I'm already thinking of getting another car.
This is where I can't seem to be logical. There are so many cars out there that really tease me to want to buy. I should be enjoying not having car payments (just paid my current car off in August). Love not having car payments so I plan to pay cash for my next car hoping this will slow down my urge to buy another car.
How do I change this behavior? To me, it's like someone who is obsessed with buying shoes..They just can't have enough shoes!
Anyone else conquer this obsession? And how did you do it?
Please help me, I'm stuck in this place and I'm not liking it

It can't be as bad as stopping cigarette smoking.
and
Personally, I'm envious of your PIF auto status.
FWIW, I personally think you should buy a vehicle because you NEED, not because you WANT.
However
Those WANTS are what drives the retail auto business.
